We’re reaching the end of the year and we have organised plenty of event nights on to help celebrate the Christmas season and see off 2023 in style.

 

Before we get to the list of events, it is worth pointing out that unless we are holding an event night, we will continue to offer our usual set menu.

 

I can confirm that we are, and always will be, a safe haven from dry turkey breast, undercooked sprouts and watery gravy.

 

The list is as follows:

 

In the run up to Christmas:

 

Wagyu Beef Sunday – Sunday 10^th December

 

Sunday lunch at The White Swan is renowned, but we’ve decided to take it to the next level.

Start the festive period in style with wagyu beef, plus everything else that comes with our Sunday lunch.

 

Price £85 per head for our 3 course lunch with extras

 

Service is 12.00 – 4:40pm

 

The 12 days of Christmas - Places are very limited

 

Thursday the 7^th of December

Tuesday the 12^th of December

Thursday the 21^st of December - fully booked

 

Ever popular, ‘The 12 days of Christmas’ involves the beautifully talented Burnley Municipal choir visiting us and letting rip with plenty of your favourite carols. All while you enjoy a fabulous White Swan meal.

 

I don’t believe there is a better way to get yourself into the festive mood and by the end of the night, I can guarantee that the whole pub will be joining in and it will be spectacular.

 

Price £125 per head

Christmas Super Sunday – Sunday 17^th December

 

It’s the last Super Sunday this year, get your household together and enjoy lunch without having to lift a finger, here at The White Swan.

 

Price £70 per head for our 3 course lunch plus extras

Service is 12-00 until 4.40pm

 

 

Civilised Friday - Friday 22^rd December

 

The Christmas holidays have started and there will be office parties going off all over the country but if you’ve lost your MC Hammer moves and the last time you touched it was in 1992 or if going gangnam style isn’t your thing, then joining us at the White Swan on the last Friday before Christmas (mad Friday) is probably a very good option for you. We call it civilised Friday for a reason, If you hear the macarena on our juke box, your meal will be free.

 

Our normal menu will apply all day

 

Lunch service is 12:00 – 1:20pm £85 per head

Dinner service is 5:40 – 8:40pm £85 per head

 

 

Christmas Eve – Sunday 24^th December

 

Tis the night before Christmas and all through the pub, we will be serving amazing grub.

 

Our normal menu will apply all day

 

Lunch service is 12:00 – 1:20pm £85 per head

Dinner service is 5:00 – 9:00pm £85 per head

 

 

Christmas Day – Monday 25^th December

 

It’s the big one, it’s the most popular day of the year, table availability is very limited.

 

We do 2 sittings 12:00pm and 4:00pm

 

There’s champagne on arrival and then you’ll enjoy a lavish meal befitting of Christmas Day.

 

Our menu is still to be decided but as its Christmas Day you can expect luxury ingredients and plenty of festive cheer.

Boxing Day – Tuesday 26^th December

 

I’m sorry but we’re closed for recuperation.

 

 

And then, in between Christmas and New Year, while you’re milling around not too sure what to do with yourselves, we put these nights on for you:

 

 

Wednesday 27^th of December – White Swan Classics

 

Tom has now been cooking at The White Swan for 10 years. If you ask him, he doesn’t have a ‘signature dish’, but he does have some classics (basically personal favourites) that keep coming back.

 

Price £100 per head - an optional wine flight will be available

Arrive at 7.00pm.

Thursday 28^th of December – Lancashire Night

 

A simple concept but one that really shows how great and diverse the produce of our county is.

Tom will source ingredients from across the Lancashire and then use his skills to produce a menu so good, it can only have come from one place.

 

Price £100 per head  - an optional wine flight will be available

Friday 29^th of December – Truffle Night

 

Imagine a tasting menu that highlights the unique aroma and taste of truffle in every course, well now you can experience it.

 

Price £120 per head, wine pairings will be available.

Saturday 30^th December - Steak and Lobster Night

 

This might seem obvious but if you like lobster and you like steak then this is the night for you.

We’re simplifying the night to just 3 courses of which one will be fresh native lobster, one will be English beef fillet and then, just to top it off, you’ll finish with a pudding.

 

Price £100 per head matching wines will be available.

 

Service 5:40pm – 8:40pm, please note that your table will be required back if you are booked in before 7:20pm

Sunday 31^st December – NYE 2023

 

A lot has happened this year, its been fast and slow at the same time! say goodbye to 2023 and welcome in 2024 the right way.

 

We are doing 2 sittings:

 

5:00pm – 3 course dinner - £80 per head – perfect if you have a party to go to

8:00pm – 6 course dinner - £160 per head – perfect if you’d like to join our party

Monday 1^st of January 2024 - New Years Day

 

We will close on New Years Day and re-open on Tuesday the 9^th of January, yes that is how long it will take us to recover from the NYE celebrations.
